Michael J. Bono, PT, MS, OCS, COMT

Michael received his Master of Science degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Rhode Island in 2003.  Since that time, he has practiced outpatient orthopedic physical therapy in both Boston and Seattle.  He is certified as an Orthopedic Specialist (OCS) through the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties. This certification is awarded to those individuals who have demonstrated advanced clinical knowledge and skills in physical therapy specialty areas.  In addition, Michael has completed his Level 4 manual therapy certification (COMT) through the North American Institute of Orthopedic Manual Therapy (NAIOMT).   The North American Institute of Orthopedic Manual Therapy (NAIOMT) is a physical therapy-owned organization dedicated to achieving the highest standards of clinical practice for manual physical therapists.

Michael believes physical therapy is a partnership with communication and respect at its core. A thorough evaluation and treatment plan tailored to the individual are critical to the successful outcome of the patient.  Michael believes that collaboration is important in developing mutual goals and creating a positive environment for healing.  He is also excited to integrate his manual therapy background with diagnosis and treatment of movement system impairment (MSI) syndromes to alleviate musculoskeletal dysfunction, a theoretical approach developed by Shirley Sahrmann, PT, PhD, FAPTA at Washington University in St. Louis, and the shared approach of the practitioners at Movement Systems Physical Therapy.

Michael continues to love living in the Pacific Northwest since leaving the Northeast.  Outside of work, he enjoys hiking, camping, road bicycling, reading science fiction, spending time with friends, traveling and walking around Seattle with a coffee in hand.
