Gretchen Deutschlander, DPT Gretchen Deutschlander, DPT received her undergraduate degree in Cell Biology and Neuroscience from Montana State University in Bozeman in 2005. Through her course work in the life sciences, she developed an interest in human anatomy and physiology which led her to pursue a degree in physical therapy.
In 2009, she earned her DPT (Doctor of Physical Therapy) from Washington University in St. Louis (WUSTL). With the support of outstanding faculty, including Shirley Sahrmann, PT, PhD, FAPTA, she learned the fundamental principles behind the diagnosis and treatment of Movement System Impairments (MSI). It is this treatment approach upon which Movement Systems Physical Therapy has been based since its origination in 1995. During both her undergraduate and graduate studies, Gretchen also developed a love for teaching and research, serving as a teaching assistant and research assistant throughout her undergraduate education and as a research assistant during graduate studies at WUSTL. During this research assistantship, she worked with faculty on the implementation of exercise-based research projects.
